Baku. Musa Ahmadov – APA-Economics. As of May 1, 2016, total foreign liabilities of Azerbaijan-based commercial banks stood at AZN 6,749,300,000, down AZN 381.2 mln or 5.35% from previous year.
Central Bank of Azerbaijan said the external borrowing dropped AZN 686.1 mln or 9.23% in April.
At the same time, compared to December 2015, banks’ total foreign liabilities decreased AZN 1,455.2 mln or 17.74% in April 2016.
At the same time, as of May 1, 2016, banks’ total foreign assets stood at AZN 8,557.9 mln, up AZN 3,561 mln or 1.71 times in comparison to a year earlier. Compared to previous months, total foreign assets decreased AZN 569.6 mln or 6.24% in April.
