"We welcome ADB's increased commitment to fast payment tools that support developing member countries in addressing critical financing gaps and responding to ongoing shocks," Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov said during the meeting with Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masatsugu Asakawa within the framework of the 56th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the ADB, APA-Economics reports.
Noting that all physical and social infrastructures completely destroyed during the occupation, S.Sarifov noted that a lot of demining works should be carried out before the reconstruction measures. Noting that Azerbaijan spent more than 6.6 billion dollars on reconstruction and restoration works in the last 3 years, the minister pointed out that the region has great economic potential due to its strategic geographical position.
