As of February 28 this year, the volume of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's (EBRD) active portfolio in Azerbaijan increased by 0.37% or 4 million euros compared to the previous month (January), reaching 1 billion 86 million euros. The number of active projects implemented is 33, EBRD told APA-Economics.
It was noted that 92% of the portfolio (994 million euros) consists of investments in sustainable infrastructure, 5% (52 million euros) in industry, trade, and agribusiness investments, and 4% (40 million euros) in investments in financial institutions. In February, the bank's operational assets in the country increased by 1% compared to the previous month, reaching 757 million euros.
Thus, to date, the EBRD has invested 4.064 billion euros in Azerbaijan within the framework of 196 projects, with 3.339 billion euros already utilized by borrowers. The private sector accounts for 36% of the total investments.
