Over the past year, more than half a billion manats have been spent on the efficient use of water resources, this is reflected in the Cabinet of Ministers' report for 2024, APA reports.
The report states that last year, 539.7 million AZN were allocated from the state budget for these purposes. This amount was used for ensuring the efficient use of the existing water resources in the country, improving the management of water economy, reducing water losses, enhancing farmers' access to irrigation water, improving the meliorative condition of soils, including new lands in the crop rotation for agricultural development, expanding irrigation areas, maintaining irrigation sub-artesian wells, and financing other melioration measures.
