In 2024, the turnover of mutual tourism services in Azerbaijan increased by 37.9%, reaching USD 3.6 billion. During the reporting period, the export of tourism services (2 billion US dollars) exceeded imports (1.6 billion US dollars), resulting in a surplus of USD 450.3 million, APA-Economics reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
The number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad increased by 15.5%, while the number of foreign visitors coming to Azerbaijan rose by 25.9% during this period. The volume of tourism-related services provided to Azerbaijani residents by foreign countries amounted to USD 1.6 billion, 79.1% of which was related to personal trips made by Azerbaijani citizens (excluding funds spent on shuttle trade).
