Minister of Finance of Azerbaijan, Sahil Babayev, has commented on the inclusion of the oil price at $65 per barrel in next year’s state budget, APA reports.
During the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship on the discussion of the “State Budget Package of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026,” the minister said that there is a pool consisting of figures from 22 international organizations.
“Based on these, we determine the annual oil price. In all forecasts, the consensus price among the 22 organizations is $65. The framework we set is slightly above the consensus level. What will happen if oil prices fall? Throughout this year, oil prices have dropped several times. However, when looking at the 9-month average selling price of oil, despite temporary declines, the price has remained above $72,’’ the minister stated.
