Azerbaijani PM: Government's one of main tasks is implementing social and economic development in parallel

In 2024, 39% of the state budget expenditures, amounting to 14.6 billion manats, were allocated to financing social expenses to strengthen social protection, said Prime Minister Ali Asadov during the presentation of the Cabinet of Ministers' report for 2024 at the Milli Majlis, APA reports.

He noted that in 2024, the average pension amount increased by 12%, the old-age pension increased by 11.3%, and the minimum living wage rose by 9.8%: "The average monthly amount of social assistance per family reached 475 manats. The continuous reforms initiated by the President ensure a consistent focus on solving social issues. As of January 1, decisions regarding the next increases in the social sector have been adopted. Overall, four social packages have been implemented over the past few years, with more than 7 billion manats spent for these purposes. Moving forward, one of the main tasks of the government will remain the parallel implementation of social and economic development."
