Azerbaijan to allocate 10.9% of budget expenditures to construction works in liberated territories next year

"In terms of ensuring the inviolability of the borders, strengthening the defense capability of the country has been kept as the main priority," Azerbaijan's Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov said during the discussion on the draft law "On the state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2024" at today's meeting of Milli Majlis, APA reports.

Minister noted that, as President Ilham Aliyev said at the parade held in Khankandi, we have fulfilled all the tasks, however, army building will still remain the main priority: "In the state budget of 2024, financing of the measures to strengthen the defense capability and reconstruction of Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur have been accepted as a priority. Next year, funds equal to 10,9% of the state budget expenditures will be allocated to the construction works in the liberated territories. In the state budget of 2024, funds in the amount of 10.1% of GDP will be directed to priority areas."

The minister also drew attention to the fact that funds will be allocated from the state budget for the formation of mobilization and other reserves.
