Average monthly salary in Azerbaijan rises by over 10%

In January- February 2025, the average monthly nominal salary of employees in Azerbaijan's economy increased by 10.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching AZN 1043.6, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.

The average monthly nominal salary was higher in the sectors of mining, finance and insurance, information and communication, professional, scientific, and technical activities, as well as transportation and storage.

As of March 1, 2025, the number of employees in Azerbaijan's economy was 1,758.8 thousand, of which 878.5 thousand worked in the public sector and 880.3 thousand in the private sector. Among the employed, 18.7% worked in education, 18.6% in trade and vehicle repair, 13.7% in industry, 8.5% in healthcare and social services, 6.5% in construction, 6.4% in public administration and defense; social security, 4.2% in transportation and storage, 3.9% in professional, scientific, and technical activities, 2.3% in agriculture, forestry, and fishing, 2.3% in finance and insurance, and 14.9% in other sectors of the economy.
