International insurance and risk management company Allianz Trade has kept Azerbaijan’s country risk rating unchanged at “B1,” APA-Economics reports.
This was stated in the company’s update of country risk ratings for the third quarter of 2026.
It should be noted that Allianz Trade upgraded Azerbaijan’s risk assessment from “C1” to “B1” in April this year. Thus, Azerbaijan’s position remained unchanged in the third-quarter assessment.
The “B1” rating for Azerbaijan indicates that the overall level of risk in the country is low, particularly with payment and commercial risks remaining limited in the near term. In other words, Allianz Trade assesses Azerbaijan as a relatively stable country in terms of business activity and settlements with foreign partners. However, the “B” category indicates that economic and institutional risks have not been completely eliminated.
It should be noted that Allianz Trade’s country risk rating is not a sovereign credit rating. The assessment measures the risk of non-payment of commercial obligations due to economic, political and financial factors beyond the control of companies operating in a particular country.
