SpaceX founder Elon Musk has ordered Ukraine's access to the Starshield military satellite communications system to be slowed, APA reports citing The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
According to their sources, Musk and US President Donald Trump have expressed dissatisfaction in recent weeks over Kyiv's strikes on Russian oil refineries, and last week Musk restricted data transmission speeds to Ukraine, rendering several Ukrainian attack drones and interceptor drones effectively useless. According to some US officials, Musk made this decision independently, and Trump did not issue any orders. However, one of the publication's sources stated that the entrepreneur had spoken with numerous high-ranking US administration officials, including the head of the administration, before imposing the speed restriction.
As the newspaper notes, the slowdown in communication speeds caused panic in Kyiv.
