Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Tuesday that the United States must lift pressure, threats and sanctions before any negotiations, telling Pakistan’s army chief that Iranians feared talks would be followed by another attack, APA's bureau in Tehran reports.
Meeting Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pezeshkian thanked Pakistan for its efforts to reduce tensions and resolve disputes through diplomacy, according to state media.
“Our nation does not trust America today and believes that if we negotiate, they will attack us again,” Pezeshkian said, referring to US attacks on Iran during earlier negotiations.
He accused Washington of warmongering and blamed it for the region’s problems.
