EU Foreign Service Chief Kaja Kallas claims the US has been "pushing Ukraine toward capitulation" for 1.5 years now and that the conflict in Ukraine continues only thanks to military supplies from the EU, APA reports.
"American negotiators have been pushing Ukraine toward capitulation for almost two years, or rather, for a year and a half," Kallas said, speaking at a session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Her remarks were broadcast live by the EP press service. "Why hasn't Ukraine surrendered yet? Because Europe is supplying it," she added.
According to her, the EU diplomatic service is trying to formulate "its maximalist demands on Russia" so that the costs of the war in Ukraine "are not in vain" for Brussels.
