"The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is ready to support the development of the capital market within the framework of cooperation with Azerbaijan," ADB Country Director Sunniya Durrani-Jamal said at a meeting dedicated to the development of the local capital market held today, APA-Economics reports.
She stated that strengthening joint cooperation in the future is important in order to contribute to the integration of the local market into the global financial system.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) Farid Akhundov, Chairman of the Board of Baku Stock Exchange CJSC Ruslan Khalilov, the member of the Board of BFB Oktay Gasimov, as well as the executive director of the Azerbaijan Capital Market Participants Association (AFBIA) Murad Yahayev.
ADB representatives were provided with detailed information about the reforms implemented in recent years to develop the capital market, the work done, and future plans, particularly measures implemented to modernize market infrastructure, introduce new financial instruments, and attract local investors to the market.
