Azerbaijan sees 34% rise in monetary base

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of June 1, 2012, the national currency (manat) monetary base stood AZN 8,373.1 mln, up 34.1% or 2,128.2 mln compared to previous year, told the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The monetary base increased by 2.8% or AZN 227.2 mln in May, 2012.

Note that, the monetary base includes currency in circulation and reserves which commercial banks hold in their accounts with the central bank.
