Azerbaijan collects nearly 30 mln premiums on compulsory car insurance in May

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Since the application of law on Compulsory insurance, the Compulsory Insurance Bureau collected AZN 29.2 mln premiums on compulsory car insurance.

During this period, 388.8 thousand contracts were signed on compulsory insurance of civil responsibility of vehicle owners and 80.8 thousand of these were signed for a month and related with cars registered in abroad and imported to Azerbaijan via transit.

In May, 2012, Compulsory Insurance Bureauâ€™s 11 participants collected AZN 8.9 mln on compulsory car insurance. Last month, 118.4 thousand contracts were signed on compulsory insurance of civil responsibility of vehicle owners and 19.1 thousand of these were signed for a month and related with cars registered in abroad and imported to Azerbaijan via transit.

Note that, the Bureau has been in operation since end of last year.

Currently, the Bureau includes â€“ Pasha Sigorta, Standard Insurance, Azersigorta, AXA-Mbask, Silk Way Insurance, Ateshgah Sigorta, AtaSigorta, Xalg Sigorta, AzSigorta, Alfa Sigorta and Mega Sigorta.
