MONEYVAL accepts report on Azerbaijan’s progress

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. The second report about the progress of Azerbaijan has been presented at MONEYVAL’s 37th plenary session.

According to the news service for the State Committee for Equities of Azerbaijan, the session was held in Strasbourg on 13-16 December.

Head of the interdepartmental working group on combat against money laundering Rufat Aslanly headed the delegation from Azerbaijan which attended the session.

The analysis of the report on the progress of Azerbaijan carried out by the Polish delegation which performed the role of the rapporteur country and secretary of MONEYVAL committee was heard.

Both analyses noted that Azerbaijan has reached a significant progress in combat with money laundering and financing terrorism, adopted legal and institutional mechanisms in line with international standards. The attention of the country’s government to the international commitments in this sphere was also noted.
