Foreign direct investment in Russia reaches $36 billion

Baku - APA-Economics. Direct foreign investments into the Russian economy have increased during first 10 months of 2011 compared to the same period of last year, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said Monday.

According to the preliminary estimation, direct investments in Russia reached 36 billion U.S. dollars from January to October, Putin told a governmental meeting here. The figure for the same period of 2011 is 32.2 billion dollars.

Putin promised to create favorable conditions for direct foreign investment in key economic sectors, including strategic sectors.

The Russian PM has repeatedly said that after the parliamentary and presidential elections Russia’s economic policy would not be changed and the country would improve its business climate to woo more investors.
