RSI index falls in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. Retail Sales Index (RSI) made 100.7% in October, 2011, down 7.7% compared to September. This figure was 101.4% in August, 99.6% in July, 97.1% in June, 118.3% in May, 82.3% in April, 115.9% in March, 94.5% in February, 73.55 in January, APA-ECONOMICS reports quoting the State Statistics Committee.

RSI is calculated as a comparison between the sales value and previous monthâ€™s indexes. The Retail Sales Index was AZN 1,446.5 mln in July, AZN 1,312.8 mln in June, AZN 1,348.2 mln in May, AZN 1,139.6 mln in April, AZN 1,384.4 mln in March, AZN 1,156.9 mln in February, AZN 1,224.1 mln in January.

This growth is associated with RSI significant increase in the growth rate of retail sales in the monthly comparison. The fact that the April index was less than 100% indicates that retail sales this month was much lower than last month.
