Azerbaijani FInMinister attends special meeting of World Economic Forum in Jordan

Baku - APA-Economics. The Jordanian Dead Sea coast hosted a special meeting of the World Economic Forum devoted to the economic development of the Middle East and Arab countries.

Azerbaijani embassy in Jordan told APA that, the forum was attended by Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Juan Carlos King of Spain, head of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabr Ali Thani, head of Transitional Government of Libya Mahmoud Jibril, Palestinian Prime Minister Salaam Fayyad, president of the World Economic Forum Klaus Shevab, as well as ex-presidents of several countries, public and political leaders, economists, and about 700 businesses, 20 ministers and more representatives of civil society institutions.

Azerbaijan was represented by a delegation led by Finance Minister Samir Sharifov. Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan Elman Arasli also took part in the conference.

delivering speech at the forum ex-prime minister of France Edward Bilardo spoke about G8, announced the intention to allocate $70-80 bln for political and economic reforms in the Arab Spring countries, as well as to ensure successful development of industry. The forum discussed the problems faced by countries in the Middle East.
