ERC: Annual inflation exceeds 15% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev – APA-Economics. Economic Research Center (ERC) presents the results of prices of statistical observation conducted in 10 regions of Azerbaijan in September with financial support of the Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation.

The results of statistical observations show that the consumer prices rose by 0.65%. During this peiod the price of food products increased by 0.68 %, of non-food products by 0.59% and of services by 0.74%. Compared to August, in September, the consumer price index through the capital and the regions, increased by 0.84% in Baku and by 0.45% in regions. Price of good products increased by 0.96% in Baku, by 0.41% in regions. Price of non-good products increased by 0.80% and by 0.38%, and price of services increased by 0.83% and by 0.65%. During September, the most significant rise in price was observed among foreing language courses (8.34%), eggs (7.95%), bony mutton (4.94%). Due to seasonal factors, price of pomegranate dropped by 28.45%, pumkin – 13.64%, new potato – 13.46% and etc.

Compared with the same period of the last year (12 months), 15.24% increase in prices was registered in the country. In this time prices in Baku increased by 18.89 % and by 11.65% in the regions. In the mentioned period, the highest inflation was registered in food products (25.40 %). Non-food products increased by 4%, and services by 4.65%.

In 9 monhts of 2011, consumer prices rose 8.52%, food products – 13.255, non-food products – 2.54% and services - 4.07%.
