IMF confirms two candidates for top job

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. Only two people can lay claim to the post of IMF Managing Director: French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde and the head of the central bank of Mexico Agustin Carstens.

This decision was taken at a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Fund.

Israel’s Central Bank head 67-year old Stanley Fischer tried to join the candidates at the last minute, yet failed passing the 65-year age limit.

The former Managing Director of the Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn went into early retirement over scandalous accusations of sexual harassment.
