Baku - APA-Economics. Georgia did not refuse conditions put forward in order to grant consent to Russia’s WTO membership remain in force, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said, APA reports citing Interfax.

“Wew have certain demands against Russia. Firstly, Georgian-Russian border must be transparent at Abkhazia and Southern Ossetia posts. Our demands will not be considered again and our partners understand it very well”, Kalandadze noted.

To her, at the last meeting between Mikheil Saakashvili and the U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, which took place in Rome, it was decided that Georgia allegedly would abandon its requirements regarding Russia’s WTO accession.

Note that, the World Trade Organization (WTO) is an organization that intends to supervise and liberalize international trade. It has 153 members, representing more than 97% of the world’s population, and 30 observers, most seeking membership. One of the main conditions set by Tbilisi is to have total control over customs posts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia republics. And Georgia will not support Russia’s World Trade Organisation accession unless Moscow fulfills the conditions set by the Georgian government.

Usually, talks on WTO entry are conducted 5-7 years. But Russia signed a record indicator in this sphere – 17 years. At present, Russia is the only country having huge economy, which is not member of this organization,
