Azerbaijan to host international investment conference

The first discussions will be devoted to the trade in the Caspian region, investment and business opportunities. The discussions will be led by director of â€œEuroconvention Conferencesâ€ company which is one of the organizers of the conference. The discussions will cover the attraction of investor to Azerbaijan, the addresses on the organization of the business and interrogation session on it.

The presentation on the country by Azpromo, the activity of international Finance Corporation in the Caspian region as well as the presentations on competition callings in the Eastern Europe and South Caucasus by Economic Cooperation and Development Organizations will be held within the framework of the conference.

The presentations on corporate management and financial accounting by Pricewaterhouse Coopers International Audit Company, legislative environment in Azerbaijan by Baker&McKenzie Company, Investment environment in the country by American Chamber of Commerce, including new investment opportunities by the Azerbaijan-Turkey Business Association are planned to be held at the second part of the discussions.

Situation and opportunities in banking and financial sector of Azerbaijan wil be discussed at the first day of conference. Banking sector and financial services, bank investments, innovative bank products, financial development of small and micro business, insurance market and inflow opportunities of foreign capital into the country will be discussed at the conference. The representatives of WB, EBRD, German KfW Bank, Azerbaijan Investment Company and other state and private organizations are planned to make speeches at the conference.

Besides, alternative energy, investment and income opportunities will be also discussed at the event. Director of Alternative and Renewable Enegy Agency Akim Badalov will head the discussions.

Besides, development of agriculture in Azerbaijan, implementing state programs for this, including development program of regions, financing of this sector will be discussed at the conference. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Bahram Aliyev, AEC President Mammad Musayev, including the representatives of USAID, BSTDB - Black Sea Trade and Development Bank are planned to make speeches at the event.

The second day of discussions will be devoted to the development of telecommunication sector in Azerbaijan, investment and privatization opportunities in this sphere. Deputy Minister of Communication Elmir Valizadeh and representatives of Azerbaijanâ€™s large communication companies are planned to make speeches.
Besides, a session on â€œInfrastructure in Azerbaijan: Finance and Investmentâ€ is planned to be held. Potential regional transport and road infrastructure will be discussed here. Dovletkhan Dovletkhanov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and. Architecture, Azer Aliyev, Head Adviser, Transport Policy and Economics Division, Ministry of Transport and Chairman of State Property Issues Committee Rustam Shahbazov will make speeches.
