Conference on â€œReforms in National Accounting System: preliminary resultsâ€ held in Baku

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Today, a conference on â€œReforms in National Accounting System: preliminary resultsâ€ was held in Baku by the organizing of Azerbaijani Finance Ministry. The conference was aimed to discuss the reforms conducting in accounting and audit spheres, including the results on the Corporate & Public Sector Accountability Project (CAP/SAP).

According to APA-Economics, Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov spoke about the reforms conducted in this sphere and noted that, the reforms are underway on the three stages: â€œThe first stage includes the preparing of financial reforms on the basis of international standards and adoption of legislation acts that regulates accounting subjects on submitting. The second stage covers making and fulfilment of measures that reflected in relevant normative-legal acts on submitting of new financial reports in accordance to Azerbaijanâ€™s legislation by accounting subjects. And the third stage is designed to organize the uninterrupted training processes to achieve important and thorough knowledgeâ€.

He also noted that, 87 state bodies, 1 816 entrepreneurship subjects, 4 500 budget organizations, 1 717 municipalities, 595 NGOs submit their financial reforms in accordance to the international standards.

He also noted that the necessary normative-legal and methodological base has been established. Besides, the relevant training system has also been established.

He also stressed that these measures will be realized with the granting of technical aids by Azerbaijani government and international financial agencies in accordance to the strategy of accounting policy of the country.

According to Minister of Education Misir Mardanov noted that, relevant training might be held for increase of specialists in this sphere: â€œMinistry of Education will do its best in this directionâ€.

WB manager on Azerbaijan Joseph Owen says that World Bank support this process.
