Eurozone economy grows 1.7% in 2010
The positive growth was achieved after a record contraction of 4.1 percent in 2009 when the financial crisis was taking its toll on the real economy.
According to the flash estimates of Eurostat, eurozone economy grew by 0.3 percent in the fourth quarter of 2010, while the EU’s economy increased by 0.2 percent compared with the previous quarter.
In the third quarter of 2010, eurozone’s economy also rose 0.3 percent while that of the EU gained 0.5 percent.
After starting recovery in the third quarter of 2009, eurozone economy maintained its growth momentum throughout 2010, and reached a record high growth rate of 1.0 percent in the second quarter.

Ötən ilin IV rübündə avrozonanın iqtisadiyyatı 0,3% artıb. Halbuki analitiklər bu göstəricinin 0,4% olacağını proqnozlaşdırırdılar. Avropa İttifaqına üzv olan 27 ölkədə iqtisadi artım daha az - 0,2% olub.
Ümumilikdə avrozona ölkələrinin statistikası Yunanıstan istisna olmaqla qənaətbəxş sayılır. Dərin böhran yaşayan bu ölkədə ötən ilin heç bir rübündə iqtisadi artım qeydə alınmayıb. Avrozonanın digər “zəif bəndi†Portuqaliyada ard-arda iki rüb iqtisadi artım (0,2%) qeydə alınsa da, sonuncu rübdə 0,3% azalma müşahidə olunub. Avrozonanın daha bir başağrısı olan İspaniyada isə sonuncu rübdə 0,2% artım qeydə alınıb.
Avrozonada ÜDM-in artımına görə lider isə Baltikyanı ölkələr olub. Onlar böhranı ağır keçirdiklərindən, geridə qalmış itkiləri kompensasiya etməyə çalışırlar. Nəticədə Estoniyada 2,3%, Litvada 1,7%, Latviyada isə 1,1% iqtisadi artım qeydə alınıb.
