Number of banks closed in US reaches 146

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. Regulators shut down three more banks in the US on November 12. Thus, the number of the banks closed in the US reached 146, this is 23 banks more compared with the reporting period of last year, 6 banks more compared with the entire 2009, APA-Economics reports. On November 12, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. took over the two Georgia banks Darby Bank & Trust Co. with $654.7 million in assets, Tifton Banking Co. with $143.7 million in assets, Arizona-based Copper Star Bank with $204 million in assets.
