The US State Department announced on Thursday that Washington and Copenhagen had signed a maritime cooperation agreement aimed at boosting US shipbuilding capabilities, APA reports.
Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg and Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen signed the memorandum,
"This partnership will help train America’s shipbuilding workforce faster, attract Danish investments to U.S. shipyards, and provide American shipbuilders advanced technology to build and repair vessels more quickly and at a lower cost. The result is more well-paid blue-collar jobs in American communities and a stronger U.S. maritime industrial base," the release showed.
