Number of plastic cards increases by 6% in Azerbaijan, year-on-year

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of October 1, 2010, number of issued plastic cards made 4 059 thousand in Azerbaijan, up 245 000 or 6.4% compared with a year ago, 85 000 or 2.1% from early of 2010. At the same time this index was down 6 000 or 0.2% in August.

CBA says that 32 156 000 transactions were consumed via debit cards in January-September, 2010. The volume of transaction was accounted as AZN 3.872 bln.

Transaction via credit cards made 1 642 000 in amount of AZN 434 mln. The number of credit cards rose 14.2% and volume â€“ 12.1% compared with a year ago.
