Baku-APA. German foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier hopes that the vote in the Bundestag on the "Armenian genocide" will not cause tension in relations between Berlin and Ankara, APA reports quoting RİA Novosti.

“This is an independent decision of the German Bundestag. Turkey responded as expected, and I hope that in the coming days and weeks we will be able to build up their relationship, to avoid excessive reaction,†said the Minister, quoted by the press service of the foreign Ministry of Germany.

Recall that the German Bundesdag has approved the draft resolution recognizing the so-called Armenian genocide.
