Baku. Turbat Baghirova – APA. To achieve peace, NATO must demonstrate unity, solidarity, and determination, President of Poland Andrzej Duda said in his speech at the Warsaw Summit Experts' Forum on July 8.
According to the president, NATO was founded in order to defend peace, noting that international order today is seriously affected after the annexation of Crimea, the wars in Donbass and Syria as well as the mass migrations.
“Therefore, we have serious obligations. We must do all we can for people to live in peace and without fear. NATO, at the Warsaw summit, must demonstrate unity, solidarity, and mostly importantly: determination. We have put up a joint fight against traditional and hybrid threats,” he said.
The president noted that the Warsaw summit is an excellent opportunity to cooperate with countries seeking to be a member of the Alliance and to expand relations with Georgia, Ukraine, and Moldova.
Andrzej Duda said the US and Canada have an irreplaceable role in transatlantic security, adding that the European Union is a key partner of the Alliance.
