European Council President Charles Michel remarked on Friday the European Union needs a new plan when it comes to the energy needed for the next winter amid the bloc's dispute with Russia over that country's military operation in Ukraine, APA reports citing Teletrader.
Speaking at the same press conference, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Brussels will draft a proposal on how to move away from being dependent on Russia's gas and oil by 2027 and present it by the middle of May. She confirmed the EU will soon introduce the fourth package of sanctions on Moscow.
