“You can see that sanctions are absolutely counterproductive. Consequently, I am convinced that all entities who might theoretically consider sanctions will act pragmatically and refrain from taking measures that could backfire on the relevant forces,” Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated to journalists, APA reports citing 1TV.

According to Kobakhidze, they sanctioned two high-ranking police officials, both of whom fought in the 2008 war. He asserted that people making such decisions should not make such mistakes.

“Sanctions are counterproductive. They sanctioned two high-ranking police officials, both of whom fought in the 2008 war. People making such decisions should not make such mistakes. Everyone has seen that sanctions are counterproductive, and therefore, I believe that more pragmatic decisions will be made in the future,” the Prime Minister declared.
