Georgia tightens fines due to rules and law violations

In Georgia, fines for violations of rules and laws are being tightened,  Mamuka Mdinaradze, executive secretary of the ruling "Georgian Dream" party, said in a statement to the press following the party's meeting APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.

He noted that the criminal legislation is will be tightened with an aim at "ensuring that the country is effectively governed and that the government elected by the people has the appropriate levers and means to govern the country."

"In many cases, well-trained agents organized by foreign forces are grossly violating the rights of four million citizens of this country. To correct this abnormality, changes in legislation are being initiated," Mdinaradze said.

He also mentioned that the "deep state" continues its attempts to change the government by force in Georgia but has failed again this time.

Mdinaradze added that, upon the ruling party's initiative, the Code of Administrative Offenses will be tightened, a ban will be imposed on holding meetings in closed spaces without the prior consent of the property owner, and fines such as minor hooliganism, vandalism, disobeying the police's lawful orders, insulting the police, and blocking court entrances will be increased. The administrative detention period will be extended to 60 days. In addition, up to 3 years of imprisonment will be prescribed for inciting public violence, and the detention sentence for resisting the police will be increased to up to 6 years.

Mdinaradze emphasized that the tightening of laws will limit the space for provocations in the country.
