“We are satisfied with the dynamics of Georgia-US relations,” Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili said, APA’s local bureau reports.
According to him, at every high-level meeting, the Georgian side once again confirms its readiness to start relations “from a clean slate.”
“Unfortunately, the previous US administration damaged relations with Georgia. It is important to put the situation in order and begin rebuilding relations,” the Speaker added.
It should be noted that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze attended an official reception hosted by US President Donald Trump in New York on September 22. The head of government said that during a brief conversation with the US leader, he conveyed the Georgian side’s desire to restore the strategic partnership with the United States.
It should be recalled that the United States suspended its strategic partnership with Georgia in November 2024 amid Tbilisi’s decision to halt talks with the European Union.
