Georgia strictly complies with all rules related to the sanctions regime, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said while commenting on the European Union's proposal to impose sanctions on the Kulevi port, APA's local bureau reports.
He said that the Kulevi port is of strategic importance for Georgia: "We are completely open to cooperation with the European Union on this issue. As for specific issues, we are ready to answer questions if they arise, hold fact-based discussions, and exchange information with European Union representatives."
The EU has proposed imposing sanctions on the Georgian Kulevi and Indonesian Karimun ports for operations with Russian oil. If the proposal is supported, European companies and individuals will be prohibited from carrying out operations with the two ports in question.
