The US Senate has confirmed President Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer, Todd Blanche, as the country’s attorney general, APA reports.
Blanche’s nomination was approved by a 50-49 vote in the Senate.
All Democratic senators who took part in the vote opposed his confirmation, along with two Republicans — Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski.
Blanche previously served as deputy attorney general at the US Department of Justice and had been acting attorney general since April 2026, following Pam Bondi’s removal from office.
His confirmation came after negotiations with several Republican senators.
