One of the reasons for the decline in ammunition stockpiles in the United States is that the Joe Biden administration sent large amounts of military aid to Ukraine, US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Real America's Voice, APA reports.
"The reason we have low ammunition is because Biden gave Ukraine $300 billion worth of ammunition. They never want to mention that," he said.
Trump said that the current administration is also providing weapons to Ukraine, but unlike the previous policy, they are being paid for by European countries.
According to the US President, Washington sells weapons and military equipment not directly to Ukraine, but to the European Union, after which European countries transfer those weapons to Ukraine.
"I don't deal with Ukraine. I give it to the European Union. They have money and they pay full dollar. We sell ammunition to the European Union, we sell fighter jets, we sell everything, and they do whatever they want. They give it to Ukraine," Trump noted.
