Representatives of the Georgian government will not take part in the European Union’s (EU) “Wider Europe – Stronger Europe” forum to be held in Brussels on November 15–16, stated in the list of participants published on the European Commission’s official website, APA’s local bureau reports.
The list of confirmed speakers at the event includes EU officials, as well as the leaders of candidate countries Moldova, Ukraine, Albania, Montenegro and North Macedonia.
According to unofficial information, the Georgian authorities were not invited to the enlargement forum.
It should be noted that the forum, which will review the prospects for EU enlargement, is being organized by EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos. She recently said that Georgia is an EU candidate country only on paper.
