Sending peacekeepers to Ukraine requires peace first, said the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, before the meeting of EU foreign ministers, APA reports.
The head of European diplomacy stated that the EU is not yet discussing sending peacekeepers to Ukraine: "The European Union is not yet discussing sending peacekeepers to Ukraine, only military aid and security guarantees are being discussed. Peace is required first and foremost to send peacekeepers."
Kallas also noted that EU countries are reviewing military aid, and this discussion will be continued at the EU's emergency summit on March 6.
She also expressed support for the European Union's stance on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's refusal to hold elections: "There is no need to hold elections during military operations."
