At the 3+3 format meeting of foreign ministers of the South Caucasus countries in Istanbul, Ankara will express its support for the signing of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as for the normalization of Armenia-Türkiye relations in parallel, APA reports citing TRT Haber.
A joint statement will be adopted after the meeting.
The document will emphasize the importance of resolving regional problems and political disputes within the framework of direct dialogue between the parties, the UN Charter, sovereignty, territorial integrity, political independence, inviolability of borders, as well as the principles of respect for human rights.
During the meeting, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan are expected to hold bilateral discussions with the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran, and Armenia.
Note that the meeting of the foreign ministers of the regional states will be held on October 18.
