In January-May of this year, 16 261,3 thousand tonnes of oil were transported in Azerbaijan via main oil pipelines, which is 10,1% more annual comparison, State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics.
76,5% of transportation was implemented via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline. During the reporting period, 12 434,6 thousand tonnes of oil were transferred via the pipeline (5.55% more in annual comparison).
During the reporting period, 84.3% or 10,486.1 thousand tons of oil transported through the BTC pipeline was produced in Azerbaijan, and 15.7% or 1,948.5 thousand tons (3.06% decrease) was made up of oil imported from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
