Nakhchivan has favorable solar radiation and a renewable energy potential of 5000 MW, said the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov during the 3rd Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum and the first "Nakhchivan-Green Energy Zone" international conference, APA reports.
"Nakhchivan has favorable solar radiation and a renewable energy potential of 5000 MW. Our strategic goal is to create approximately 1,500 MW of wind and solar energy production capacity in Nakhchivan through foreign investment and to export at least 1,000 MW of it and we have already started working on it," said Parviz Shahbazov.
According to him, there is cooperation with "TotalEnergies" and "Nobel Energy" companies on the construction of solar power plants with a total capacity of 650 MW and the export of the produced electricity to Türkiye.
