Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev met with Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad in Tehran, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.
Shahin Mustafayev, who is visiting Tehran, and the delegation accompanying him met with Mohsen Paknejad today as part of the visit and discussed prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the existing opportunities for developing energy cooperation between Tehran and Baku were reviewed.
In addition, Shahin Mustafayev and Mohsen Paknejad discussed the implementation of agreements reached within the framework of joint working groups between the two countries and considered ways to develop cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
Referring to his discussions with the Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister after the meeting, Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad told journalists that the long-standing relations between Tehran and Baku, as well as the constructive cooperation formed in recent years, have created favorable opportunities for the development of ties, particularly in the economic sphere.
He said that the meeting mainly focused on energy cooperation between the two countries.
“Taking into account the extensive opportunities available in the Republic of Azerbaijan, detailed discussions and an exchange of views were held on energy trade and other areas of cooperation,” Mohsen Paknejad noted.
The Iranian Oil Minister added that an agreement had been reached to follow up on the issues discussed within the framework of joint working groups designated by the parties in order to achieve results on these issues.
