At 5-day talks, Azerbaijan will be represented by Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry Natig Abbasov.

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz told journalists that TANAP project is interested in Turkmen gas. Moreover, the transportation of Turkmen gas via Azerbaijan is possible by building the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline under the Caspian Sea, which provides gas supply from Turkmenistan to Europe by transit.

Note that, Azerbaijan and Turkey signed the Intergovernmental Agreement on Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP) on June 26. Investment in the project will amount to about $ 7 billion; it will be completed in six years. The initial capacity of the pipeline is expected to reach 16 billion cubic meters per year. About 6 billion cubic meters will be delivered to Turkey, and the rest - to Europe. The project will be implemented in 4 stages. The first stage will be completed in 2018. Its capacity of the pipeline will be hit 16 bn cbm in 2020; 23 bn cbm in 2020; 31 bn cbm in 2026.

The Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline is a proposed submarine pipeline between Turkmenbashi in Turkmenistan, and Baku in Azerbaijan.
According to some proposals it will also include a connection between the Tengiz Field in Kazakhstan, and Turkmenbashi. The Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline project if built would transport natural gas from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to central Europe, circumventing both Russia and Iran.
