Ogtay Asadov: European Parliament takes biased and double-standard approach toward Azerbaijan

Delivering a speech at the meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Ogtay Asadov said President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz expressed unethical and biased opinions about Azerbaijan.

Asadov noted that the European Parliament takes a biased and double-standard approach toward Azerbaijan.

“Our MPs have repeatedly tried to hold discussions for informing them about the truth and ask the reason for this biased approach. Unfortunately, it didn’t help. Finally, I wrote a letter to Schulz, but he didn't reply. Now, as the session of the European Parliament started, they are expressing opinions and statements on our country that don’t reflect the truth. Schulz again took a biased approach. Lying so clearly doesn’t bring respect to any politician.”

The speaker recommended the management of the European Parliament first to look at themselves and pay attention to police arbitrariness, illegality, anti-Semitism and discrimination occurred in Europe. However, they focus on some Muslim countries in Europe. We will act in the same way as they do,” he added.
