Intigam Aliyev made the final plea at the hearing chaired by Judge Rasim Sadigov.
Intigam Aliyev said he is arrested for no reason, noting that none motions filed by him were not approved by the court and there is no need to be discouraged.
Later, the hearing was adjourned.
Following the adjournment, a verdict was announced. According to the verdict, Intigam Aliyev was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison and was deprived of holding any position for 3 years.
Aliyev faces charges under the Criminal Code’s articles #213.1 (tax evasion), #308.2 (abuse of power), and #192.2 (illegal business) and #179.3.2 (assignment or waste).
