Isa Gambar withdraws from presidential race

The political situation over the nomination of professor Jamil Hasanli as a new single candidate on the initiative and with the participation of Musavat Party at the last meeting of the national Council was discussed. Basing on the last meeting of the party and taking into account the expediency of the National Council’s participation in the presidential elections with a single candidate and Isa Gambar’s proposal, the Divan passed a decision to support Jamil Hasanli’s candidacy in the presidential elections and use the activities of all party structures, including the Central Election Headquarters in this regard.

Musavat deputy chairman Mehman Javadoghlu told APA that party chairman Isa Gambar has withdrawn from presidential race. For this reason, the Divan considered the decision of the Party Majilis passed on January 4, 2013 invalid.
