He noted that Ilham Aliyev’s signature sheets are completely ready: “The signature sheets from all regions have been fully checked at the executive secretariat and are ready for submission. But according to the legislation, signature sheets can be submitted to CEC 50 days before the elections. Therefore, though we have completed signature collection campaign beforehand, we will be able to submit the documents to CEC on August 20.
About 1000 parties have actively participated in the signature collection campaign.
CEC has confirmed Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy at the meeting on August 10. The deadline for signature collection campaign is September 9. The candidates, who will submit their documents till this date, will start campaign after having been registered by CEC.
