Angela Merkel congratulates Ilham Aliyev on his reelection as Azerbaijani President

Baku – APA. Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel has sent a letter of congratulations to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.

The letter reads: “I sincerely congratulate You on your reelection as President of Azerbaijan Republic.

I’m very optimistic of the further development of bilateral relations between our countries. I’m confident that Azerbaijan will fully use the potential of the close cooperation with the European Union within Eastern Partnership.

I wish You success in decisively continuing your policy aimed at developing the country, especially building the legal state and democratic society. Germany is always ready to support Azerbaijan as a reliable partner.

I wish You success during your presidency.

President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Joachim Gauck also congratulated the Azerbaijani Head of State.

Boyko Borisov, GERB Party leader and former Prime Minister of Bulgaria (2009-2013) and Gheorghe Duca, president of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova and member of the Moldovan Government, also congratulated the Azerbaijani President.
